BUHLEBUYEZA:MTN Foundation,One Billion Rising R300,000.00 sponsorship capacitating women to fight Gender Based Violence(GBV).

BUHLEBUYEZA:Thokozani Mbatha-Dlamini, the One Billion Rising Buhlebuyeza pillar of support says the three hundred thousand Rands(R300,000.00)MTN Foundation sponsorship to One Billion Rising is playing a significant role in capacitating women to fight Gender Based Violence(GBV).

Speaking during the community circle meeting on Friday, Mbatha said women under the one Billion Rising community circle at Buhlebuyeza were grateful to come-up come up with a strategy to deal with the violence that they saw in the community,especially towards women and girls. 

“What is concerning is seeing families who are not doing anything to stop the violence.Women have been through different types of abuse and it is time we claim our power back and work towards changing families and the community to be violence free,”said Mbatha.

One Billion Rising Africa Regional Coordinator Colani Hlatjwako says what is happening at Buhlebuyeza is  happening in most communities in Eswatini. 

 "We still need to work hard as a country to sensitising communities on GBV and women’s rights,”said the One Billion Rising Coordinator.
