MBABANE: Dumisani Mngomezulu, the Acting Principal Secretary in the Ministry of Natural Resources and Energy has announced another fuel hike with effect from Thursday midnight.

In a press statement issued on Wednesday afternoon, the Acting Principal Secretary said the turbulent international oil market and the weakening Lilangeni necessitated the fuel price increase.

“The unleaded petrol price will increase from E19.05 per litre to E21.55 per litre,Diesel price will increase from E19.60 per litre to E22.10 per litre and paraffin price will increase from E14.35 per litre to E16.85 per litre,”reads the statement in part.

On another note, civil servants and workers within the private sector are struggling with low salaries and the rise in fuel prices might influence an increase in basic commodities.
