MLAWULA: Moses Vilakati, the Minister of Tourism and Environmental Affairs officially launched the Mlawula Camp Fire Festival in an event that was held on Wednesday.
This year’s festival is expected to take palace on 28-30 October 2022 at Siphiso Campsite, Mlawula Nature Reserve.
Addressing participants during the official launch, the Minister said as the country celebrated the environment month, it was quite fitting and relevant to promote activities that aligned with this years’ World Environment Day theme, “Only one Earth”, that encourages people of the world to live sustainably in harmony with nature.
“The Ministry has a responsibility, amongst others, to oversee conservation and sustainable use of natural resources,which is delegated to the Eswatini National Trust Commission.The Ministry is further tasked with the promotion of Tourism as one of the pillars in the country’s economic development agenda.The COVID-19 pandemic forced the Ministry to look inwards and expand domestic tourism initiatives through enhanced product development and introduction of diverse adventure promotions,” said the Minister when addressing the participants, as quoted by Government online platforms.
