LIMPOPO: Executive members of the Communist Party of Swaziland (CPS) met with Students Union President Colani Maseko at the funeral of Amos Mbedzi in Limpopo and encouraged him to continue the fight for democracy.
Maseko, a member of the People’s United Democratic Movement (PUDEMO), met and took photos with CPS General Secretary Kenneth Kunene and Spokesperson Pius Vilakati.
Speaking to this Swaziland News, Pius Vilakati, the Communist Party of Swaziland (CPS) Spokesperson said as the CPS they were happy to see Maseko in person and added that he was recovering well.
“We met him in person for the first time and we are glad that despite the torture, he is still positive minded and continuing with the struggle”, said the CPS Spokesperson.
Reached for comments, Students President Colani Maseko confirmed meeting with the CPS leadership at Limpopo during Mbedzi’s funeral.
“It was great to meet the esteemed leaders of the CPS, I am leading a students movement and some members of SNUS are members of the Communist Party. So the CPS is playing an active role in the students movement and it was a great pleasure for me to meet their leadership. Pius was leading students at UNESWA while I was in high school, so it was an opportunity for me to engage with him and receive some advice on how to lead the students movement,”said the Students Union President.
