LOBAMBA: Mathendele Dlamini, the newly appointed Ludzidzini Council member allegedly prayed for King Mswati’s protection after being fired as the then member of the Liqoqo King’s Advisory Council.

The information was disclosed by a former member of the Royal Board of Trustees who expressed excitement about the re-appointment of the now member of the powerful Ludzidzini Council.

“We were at a boardroom, the late Sam Mkhombe was called first and we communicated the message from the King that he has fired him, he shouted Bayethe and left. But Mathendele surprised us, he firstly indicated that once the King has spoken, as a subject he was only expected to shout Bayethe but asked to share his side of the story briefly. He then narrated a story of a white man who left his child with his dog. He said when the white man came back and upon arrival at the gate, he found the dog with blood on the mouth and decided to shoot and kill the dog.Mathendele said upon arrival inside the house, the white man found the baby safe and discovered that the dog was actually fighting a baboon that was trying to kill the baby”,said the former member of the Royal Board of Trustees whose name cannot he revealed for ethical reasons.

The ex-Royal Trustee said after narrating the story, Mathendele Dlamini then asked all the Royal Board of Trustees members who were inside the Board room to pray.

“Mathendele surprised us, he prayed strongly for about ten(10) minutes, praying for the King’s protection, thereafter, he shouted Bayethe and left. There was a moment of silence in the boardroom for about five(5) minutes after he had left and we decided to close the meeting.I am so happy that the King has re-appointed Mathendele, that man surprised us,” said the former Royal Board of Trustees member.

It has been disclosed that the then members of the Royal Board of Trustees who were allegedly sent by Mswati to communicate the dismissal of Sam Mkhombe and Mathendele Dlamini include Chairman Majozi Sithole(the then Finance Minister),Sylvia Mtsetfwa and Mavovo Mkhonto.

Other Trustees who were present include Bheki Dlamini(the then Chief Executive Officer in the King’s Office), Prince Kekela and Chief Zabankulu Simelane.

Mathendele Dlamini, the then Liqoqo member was fired by King Mswati on or around the 27th January 2011, on allegations that he colluded with the then King's Private Secretary Sam Mkhombe and attempted to revive the Imbokodvo National Movement(INM),a political party that was founded by the late King Sobhuza.

The allegations were confirmed to the media by the former Swaziland Federation of Trade Unions(SFTU) Deputy Secretary Jabulani Nxumalo who claimed being approached to be part of the project.

A questionnaire was sent to Jabulani Nxumalo whose alleged spying allegedly contributed to the dismissal of Sam Mkhombe and Mathendele Dlamini, however, he had not responded at the time of compiling this report.

Reached for comments, Mathendele Dlamini, the newly appointed Ludzidzini Council member said he was in a meeting and promised to comment later.

”Mane ungitfola ngikabi lana, nginebantfu emhlanganweni, ubobuye ungishayele(meaning: I am in a meeting, can you call me later,” said the Ludzidzini Council member.
