NGWAVUMA: Sicelo Mngomezulu, the lawyer representing incarcerated pro-democracy Members of Parliament(MPs) Bacede Mabuza and Mthandeni Dube handed over a borehole worth Two-Hundred Thousand Rands (R200,000.00) to residents of Ngwavuma in South Africa.
Speaking to this Swaziland News,the lawyer confirmed sponsoring the borehole to residents of his father’s home area.
“I have on 16 June 2022 officially handed over a borehole, two water tanks and water reticulation infrastructure to the community of Ingwavuma.The villages which benefited are Ngonyameni and Oshabeni respectively. Ingwavuma, eNgonyameni is where my father hails from. When the community called on me to help, I had no choice but to intervene. I mobilised an amount of R200 000.00 to make this possible.On the same day, which was Youth Day in South Africa, I also hosted soccer and netball tournaments for the youth of Ingwavuma. We were also honoured to have a coach from the South African Premier Soccer League club, Golden Arrows, Vusumuzi Vilakazi, who had come to scout for talent amongst the soccer teams. We also had talent scouts from the ABC Motsepe League",he said.
The lawyer said the borehole and the tournaments were fully sponsored by The Mngomezulu Group of Companies where he is the Executive Chairman.
The youth games, which were attended by over 3000 people, were a great success.
"This is the second consecutive year that we're hosting games on Youth Day. We will continue to sponsor these games annually for the foreseeable future and they can only get bigger. This year's games were sponsored to the tune of R150 000.00, including prizes and events management costs,” said the lawyer.
