MATSAPHA:Princess Sikhanyiso, the Minister of Information, Communication and Technology(ICT) says breakthroughs in science and technology continued to lead the transformation of human lives, industrialisation and the accumulation of wealth by many societies around the world.
Speaking during the Asisungule Eswatini Investors and Innovators Awards held at the Royal Science and Technology Park on Wednesday, the Minister who was represented by ICT Principal Secretary Phesheya Dube said countries that increased the level of technological expertise also approached the 2030 Agenda that was adopted by all members of the United Nations with ease.
“The Agenda is a commitment to eradicate poverty and achieve a sustainable world by 2030 and beyond, with all human well-being and a healthy environment. That is why the Ministry of ICT continues to create an enabling environment for Science, Technology and Innovation in the Kingdom of Eswatini to drive sustainable socio economic development and attain global competitiveness,”said the Minister as quoted by Government online platforms.
On another note, Siyabonga Mavuso of Fundukuwela High School has been named as a Young Innovator and Inventor of the Year.
