MBABANE:8150 Constable Sibusiso Matsebula who was based at Sigodvweni(Matsapha) Police Station is the police officer who was shot dead,allegedly, by members of the Swaziland International Solidarity Forces(SISF).
This was confirmed by the Spokesperson of the Solidarity Forces on Sunday evening.
“We can confirm that a traffic police officer was shot dead at Mathangeni,Matsapha during one of our operations. He was driving a police vehicle,the passenger was shot but survived.These operations come as a result of the killing of civilians by the security forces and the arrest of pro-democracy Members of Parliament(MPs),”said the Spokesperson of the Solidarity Forces.
Police Spokesperson Phindile Vilakati had not responded at the time of compiling this report.
Efforts to reach Matsebula’s family proved unsuccessful at the time of compiling this report.
Eswatini is in the midst of a political unrest after Mswati unleashed his soldiers and the police to shoot and kill dozens of civilians merely for demanding democratic reforms.
