MBABANE: Prime Minister Cleopas Dlamini has threatened to use force to defend eSwatini’s Sovereignty as tension escalates in this tiny Kingdom.
This comes after members of the Swaziland International Solidarity Forces(SISF)intensified the shooting and killing of security officers to defend pro-democracy Swazis who are being abducted, tortured and killed by Mswati’s forces.
“Government will not hesitate to respond with the necessary force to protect our National security as a sovereign state.Government takes this moment to strongly condemn the senseless killing of State security officers as well as the sporadic arson and terrorist attacks on public and private property, perpetuated by unknown criminals hiding behind veiled motives,” said the Prime Minister.
On another note, the Spokesperson of the Swaziland International Solidarity Forces(SISF) told this Swaziland News that the ongoing shooting and killing of police officers was in response to the arrest of pro-democracy Members of Parliament(MPs) Bacede Mabuza and Mthandeni Dube and the ongoing killing of dozens of civilians by Mswati’s forces merely for demanding democratic reforms.
The Southern African Development Community(SADC)recommended a meaningful and inclusive political dialogue.
However,Mswati ignored the report, delayed the dialogue while unleashing the police and the army to abduct, torture, shoot and kill civilians including human rights defenders.
Colani Maseko, the President of the Swaziland National Union of Students(SNUS) was abducted by Mswati’s soldiers and tortured next to Engabezweni Palace, there was no statement from the office of the Prime Minister condemning the attempted murder and the suspected soldiers remain targeted the Solidarity Forces.
Mswati, a multi-billionaire who rules eSwatini as a absolute Monarch is facing political pressure from the citizens to surrender power and allow for democratic reforms, however, the King responded by stating categorically that the country was his personal property and vowed to deal with those calling for democracy.
