LOBAMBA: Pius Vilakati, the Communist  Party of Swaziland(CPS)has accused Mswati’s Government for trying to divide the people by announcing a national prayer instead of a political dialogue.

This comes after King Mswati promised that there would be a political dialogue soon after the Incwala Ceremony that ended in January this year.

However, King Mswati announced the National prayer ahead of the dialogue.

Speaking to this Swaziland News, the CPS Spokesperson said King Mswati was up to his old tricks.

"We also should remember that he is doing this in order to divide the progressive movement.Just like his “Hallelujah" directive last year, he again wants to use christianity to divide the people. What we need to do at this stage is to remember why we stood up in the first place and fought for democracy. No amount of attempts to fool the people will prosper. The people of Swaziland want democracy, and they want it now. No amount of trickery will fool the people anymore, and they have shown this a numerous times,”said the CPS Spokesperson.

On Monday, the Minister of Home Affairs Princess Lindiwe Dlamini has announced the Annual Somhlolo Festival of Praise National Prayer Service  to be held on 22 July at Lobamba National Church ahead of the political dialogue.
