MBABANE: Judge Mumcy Dlamini is expected to deliver a judgement on an application for acquittal filed by incarcerated pro-democracy Members of Parliament(MPs) Mduduzi Bacede Mabuza and Mthandeni Dube who are facing politically motivated terrorism charges.
This was confirmed by Sicelo Mngomezulu, the lawyer representing the pro-democracy MPs.
“It’s true, we got a call from Judge Mumcy’s Clerk informing us that the judgement will be delivered today(Tuesday). It seems they wanted to do it secretly because we were informed this morning that the judgement will be delivered at 9am,” said the lawyer representing the pro-democracy MPs.
Efforts to reach High Court Registrar Nozipho Mazibuko proved unsuccessful at the time of compiling this report.
The pro-democracy MPs were arrested after an order allegedly issued by King Mswati, they were leading the calls for democratic reforms inside Parliament and subsequently charged with terrorism.
