MBABANE: Alpheous Nxumalo, the Government Spokesperson says they are investigating how former Siphofaneni Member of Parliament(MP) Mduduzi Magawugawu Simelane travelled to England as he remained a wanted man.

The former MP who is wanted by the police on politically motivated terrorism charges met high profile people including British Members of Parliament(MPs) where he highlighted the plight of Swazis and appealed for support.

Addressing the State controlled media on Wednesday, Nxumalo said the President of the Swaziland Liberation Movement(SWALIMO) remains a fugitive of justice and wondered how he obtained a visa to the United Kingdom(UK).

“Swazis are complaining , asking how former Member of Parliament Mduduzi Magawugawu Simelane arrived in England, where he obtained a passport to travel. The are questions directed to the United Kingdom High Commissioner on how he even obtained a visa, was he interviewed by Government? Because  we know he is a fugitive of justice,” said the Government Spokesperson.

Reached for comments,Mduduzi Simelane, the SWALIMO President said Mswati’s regime was frustrated by the ongoing advocacy by the Mass Democratic Movement(MDM).

“Nkhosi I have seen the frustrated and directionless clip of Alpheous. Himself and the regime are very much frustrated by the work done by the MDM. The advocacy work is hitting their live vein hence he says I am tarnishing the “good” image of fallen regime. This is proof that we must keep rising and pushing hard from all angles. We intensify”, said the SWALIMO President.
