MBABANE: Police documents reveal that National Commissioner William Tsintsibala Dlamini who declared war and risked the lives of police officers earns fifty-four thousand Rands(R54,000.00)per month while his juniors receive only nine thousand Rands(R9,000.00) before deductions.

The National Commissioner of Police is also entitled to escorts and other security benefits at his place of residence.

Dlamini, when speaking during an event organized by Tinkhundla Minister David Ngcampalala declared war saying the police were not afraid of those who were busy shooting security officers.

“We are not afraid of them, they must come-out and face us in the open,” said the National Commissioner.

But some junior police officers expressed serious concerns regarding the sentiments of the National Commissioner.

“He is always escorted and will not face the people who are killing us,” said one of  the junior police officers.

Security officers are being targeted by members of the pro-democracy Swaziland International Solidarity Forces(SISF) after King Mswati unleashed soldiers and the police to shoot and kill dozens of civilians merely for demanding democratic reforms.

Reached for comments, Sergeant Cebile ‘Cece’ Shongwe said monies for phase two(2) that were meant to increase salaries for junior police officers were misappropriated allegedly by senior police officers.

“It is time for junior police officers to ask themselves if the salaries and their welfare is worth dying for. Tsintsabala ukhuluma kanjena-nje utsi abete eShashalazini uyati kutsi yena ugadziwe, kutawufa bona(meaning: Tsintsibala is challenging those who are killing police officers to come-out in the open because he is secured, only junior officers will die,” she said.
