“It is notified for general information and appropriate action where necessary that the under-listed officers have been promoted to the rank of Inspector and Sergeant respectively with effect from 1st August 2022. 5103 Sgt N.N Dlamini to Inspector-Manzini GD. 7120 Const M. Ngubane to Sergeant- PHQ Registry. 7500 Const H. Dlamini to Sergeant- PHQ Operational Support,” reads a memo signed by National Commissioner William Dlamini.
It has been disclosed that the National Commissioner is facing possible removal in the midst of a power struggle within the Police Executive Command, he is allegedly lobbying and offering favours to those closer to Mswati to protect his position.
A questionnaire was sent to the National Commissioner, however, he had not responded at the time of compiling this report.
Reached for comments, Sergeant Cebile ‘Cece’ Shongwe of the Police Union said junior police officers who risked their lives in their line of duty were never promoted.
“Junior officers are working tirelessly but only those who are related to royalty are prioritized for promotions,” she said.
