Lawyer representing pro-democracy MPs donates R123,000.00 to political unrest victims,security officers to benefit.

MBABANE: Sicelo Mngomezulu, the lawyer representing incarcerated pro-democracy Members of Parliament(MPs) has donated one hundred and twenty-three thousand Rands(R123,000.00) to political unrest victims.

The lawyer confirmed the donation during a press conference held at Hilton Hotel in Mbabane on Thursday afternoon , he said the money was donated to the victims’ organization,the Swaziland Massacre Victims and Survivors Association(SWAVISWA).

“We can confirm that R123,000.00 has been donated to SWAVISA, an organization of Swazis who were injured during the political unrest,” said the lawyer.

Reached for comments, Madzabudzabu Kunene, the SWAVISA Chairman confirmed the donation and thanked the Mabuza family, the lawyer for this contribution. He said it would assist all Swazis without discrimination, adding that even members of the security forces who were injured during the unrest and neglected by the State would be assisted by the organization.

“We thank the Mabuza family and the lawyer for this donation, this money will assist victims of the unrest without any discrimination. We are also aware that even soldiers and the police were injured during the unrest, some were mistakenly shot by their colleagues who were shooting civilians,” said the SWAVISA Chairman.
