NGCULWINI: Thulani Mthembu, the Malkerns based police officer who was allegedly shot by members of the Swaziland International Solidarity Forces(SISF) has died.
Mthembu, the son of the late Deputy Commissioner Sam Mthembu was shot at Ngculwini on Saturday evening during a cleansing event(kukhumula tizilo) for his late father.
“He died while being rushed to hospital,” said a close family member who cannot be revealed for ethical reasons.
Superintendent Phindile Vilakati, the Police Spokesperson had not responded at the time of compiling this report.
The shooting and killing of police officers comes after King Mswati unleashed his security forces to shoot and kill dozens of civilians merely for demanding democratic reforms.
The King who incited a civil war recently ordered the police to kill more civilians saying they must meet them “eye for an eye”.
