LOBAMBA: Ludzidzini Palace Indvuna Themba Ginindza alleged that incarcerated pro-democracy Members of Parliament(MPs) Bacede Mabuza and Mthandeni Dube were found with messages in their cellphones inciting public violence.
This is contained in an ‘intercepted’ cellphone conversation obtained on Monday(15th August 2022) around 10pm, where the King's ritual man discussed this matter of vital public interest with another insider.
An independent investigation conducted by this Swaziland News uncovered that on the same night, Indvuna Ginindza was on his way to perform rituals on King Mswati ahead of the Southern African Development Community(SADC) Summit in the Democratic Republic of Congo(DRC).
“Cha boMthandeni bona basekela, babhebhetela, kwatsi noma sekucala kwenta njalo, batsi ayihlome iye phambili akushe!.Kunema-messages abo nasetincingweni tabo bebatsi akuchutjekwe kushe. Nema voice-mail, voice abo lashoko kutsi vele akuchubeke, baboshwa nguloko laba(meaning: Bo- Mthandeni supported violence and the burning of structures, they were found with evidence including text and voice messages substantiating that)”, said the Ludzidzini Indvuna.
Subsequent efforts to reach the Ludzidzini Indvuna for a comment proved unsuccessful, his phone rang unanswered.
A questionnaire was then sent to the King’s senior ritual man via a text message, however, he had not responded at the time of compiling this report.
Reached for comments, human rights lawyer Thulani Maseko said he was not aware of any incriminating evidence of electronic nature linking the incarcerated MPs.
“I am not aware of any incriminating evidence of that nature linking the MPs, if the King’s Indvuna claims the evidence exists, it should have formed part of the evidence presented in court during the trial,” said the human rights lawyer who once represented the MPs.
Efforts to reach Sicelo Mngomezulu, the South African Correspondent Attorney representing the pro-democracy MPs proved unsuccessful at the time of compiling this report.
King Mswati, an absolute Monarch allegedly ordered the arrest of pro-democracy MPs Bacede Mabuza and Mthandeni Dube merely for demanding democratic reforms inside Parliament.
