MBEKELWENI: Swazis living in the United States of America(USA) have donated groceries and money for medication to the tune of R4003.01 to a disabled woman who was dumped by the Motor Vehicle Accident(MVA) Fund.
Zinhle Sacolo,a wheel-chaired disabled woman appeared on this Swaziland News seeking assistance from members of the public, Sacolo was involved in an accident and was subsequently dumped by the MVA.
Speaking to this publication on Thursday, Sacolo thanked the Swazis living abroad for such a kind gesture.
“I would like to thank the Swazis abroad for such a kind gesture,Indeed God is great,the Swaziland News team had just visited me two days ago, only to show up again with this huge donation when I had nothing to eat. I will use this money to buy medication and pay for rent,”she said.
Reached for comments, a Representative of the donors said that they were touched when they learnt about Sacolo's story from this publication.
"Knowing that it could easily be us in a position of need, we believe that we are called to serve God and to serve others. We may not be able to help everyone as it is in our heart to do so, but we believe in the scripture that says 'Don’t withhold good from someone who deserves it, when it is in your power to do so'-Proverbs 3:27. Our thoughts are with our brothers and sisters and it breaks our hearts to see them suffer,”said one of the donors.
Makhosi Magongo, the SMVAF Communications Manager told this publication that the parastatal was aware of the challenges faced by their clients with the statutory limits adding that they were in the process of facilitating the transfer of Sacolo's case to other State facilities that could assist with medical care.
