MBABANE: Two soldiers are plotting to kill innocent civilians, they discussed this via a Facebook messenger app known as ‘inbox’.

This investigative journalist after monitoring their Facebook accounts used technological means to access their inbox messages and subsequently discovered that the soldiers were plotting a massacre.

In the messages, one of the soldiers said the problem they had in the army was that it was hard to trust anyone with the massacre operation as others are now siding with the pro-democracy movement.

“Ngoba nanyalo nje asitsembani loku ubhalanje, but I can single handle massacre yawo lamahhwabayi, nangingatfola umshini”, reads part of the message exchanged on Facebook Messenger app.

A questionnaire was sent to Lieutenant Tengetile Khumalo, the army Spokesperson, however, she had not responded at the time of compiling this report.

The names of the soldiers cannot be revealed for now pending further investigations.

It has been disclosed that the soldiers are using fake accounts, however, their identities were later discovered by this journalist and verified with other sources within the army.

Reached for comments, the Commander of the Solidarity Forces said anyone who plots to kill civilians for merely demanding freedom “is a legitimate target for the Ground Forces.”

The Commander said they have added names of legitimate targets and would soon act on the list.

“Anyone who is plotting to kill civilians for merely demanding freedom is a legitimate target for our Ground Forces,” said the Commander.
