SIPHOFANENI: Nomalungelo Simelane, the Siphofaneni Member of Parliament(MP) has been forced by Regional Administrator(RA)Themba Msibi to postpone her thanks giving event in honour of the ongoing Umhlanga Reed Dance ritual ceremony.
It has been disclosed that following a series of engagements, RA Themba Msibi wrote a letter stopping the event, the letter was delivered to MP LaZwide, however, he does not state whom it is addressed to.
“The Office of the Regional Administrator in Lubombo would like to inform you that due to the upcoming national events, you are to postpone this activity in the next coming days, that is from the 3rd to the 11th September 2022. Your cooperation in this matter will be highly appreciated,” reads the letter signed by Regional Administrator Themba Msibi.
A questionnaire was then sent to the Regional Administrator for a comment, however, he had not responded at the time of compiling this report.
Reached for comments, MP Nomalungelo Simelane confirmed receiving the letter from the Regional Administrator.
“It’s true, I received the letter today, it was delivered at the iNkhundla.I will address the Nation on this issue later,” said the MP.
