Tourism Minister Moses Vilakati launches World Tourism Month.

MBABANE: Moses Vilakati, the Minister of Tourism and Environmental Affairs launched the World Tourism Month in an event that was held at Olive Country Lodge.

According to eSwatini Government online platforms the Minister further unveiled Eswatini’s creative and empowerment-centric interpretation of the World Tourism Day theme: “Rethinking Tourism,” as declared by the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO). 

“The event was held at Olive Country Lodge, Kholwane, in the Shiselweni region. The Minister described Olive Country Lodge as a vehicle for the creation of business and employment opportunities for emaSwati, thereby echoing the powerful role that tourism continues to play in developing communities and empowering the people.Eswatini will celebrate World Tourism Month with a series of activities, culminating in World Tourism Day on 27 September. These include the Swazi Rally from 2-4 September at Riders Ranch, the MTB Classic at Mlilwane Wildlife Sanctuary on 3 September, the Africa Tourism Board’s African Soccer Legends Tournament at Mavuso Sports Ground on the same day and the Umhlanga Ceremony on 4-5 September at Ludzidzini Royal Residence,” reads a report published on Government online platforms.
