Communist Party takes on King Mswati on new over E250million BMWs

Friday, 8th November, 2019

NHLANGANO:The Communist Party of Swaziland(CPS) has condemned King Mswati’s regime for the continuous wasteful expenditure following the purchasing of 100 BMWs vehicles worth E250 million.

CPS Information and Publicity Officer Pius Vilakati said the spending by the King now amounts to a genocide as more citizens were dying as a result of non-availability of drugs in hospitals adding that a majority of eMaswati were perishing as a result of poverty.

“The Communist Party of Swaziland condemns such genocide waste of public resources by Mswati in the midst of deepening poverty in Swaziland. Public hospitals and clinics have run out of even the most basic drugs because the government is failing to pay suppliers, the health care system in Swaziland has collapsed. People go to hospitals to wait for their death. University and College students have been protesting demanding allowances as the education system has broken down. As things stand, three tertiary institutions have been shut down indefinitely by the regime and this include the University of Eswatini, William Pitcher Training College, and the Southern African Nazarene University. Unarmed protesting students were shot by the police before the institutions were shut down,” he said.

Vilakati said the issue of the opulent Swazi Monarchy has caused the suffering of the poor Swazis.

“But we know that these are the results of absolute power, Mswati rules Swaziland as absolute monarchy, the last such in Africa. He is above the law,” he said.

The purchasing of the BMWs comes a week after this Swaziland News revealed  that Rolls Royce vehicles worth over E200 million were bought by  King Mswati for his wives .
