HOSEA:Hosea youth have on Tuesday feasted on a bull worth R11,000.00 which was pledged by lawyer Sicelo Mngomezulu, the lawyer representing pro-democracy Member of Parliament(MP) Bacede Mabuza.
Speaking to this Swaziland News, Sicelo Mhlanga, the organiser of the event said the bull cost eleven thousand(E11,000.00) and thanked the MPs’ lawyer for the donation.
“I would like to thank everyone who made the event a success although it was on short notice. The event was supposed to be held yesterday but we decided to host a soccer tournament instead in order to outsmart the police who obviously showed up in numbers to stop the feast which was announced by the people’s lawyer,”he said.
Reached for comments on Tuesday, lawyer Sicelo Mngomezulu said he believed in honouring promises made to the people.
“I believe in honouring promises made to the people.I wish those who promised a dialogue to emaSwati could do like wise. The people of Hosea had a feast today, as far as I know this doesn't violate any law, neither does the pledge that I made to them.We thank the people of Hosea for standing by their MP as he remains in unlawful detention.I love emaSwati and I wish I could do more to help resolve the current political impasse.I know I'll be back in Swaziland”,said the pro-democracy MPs lawyer.
Government's Spokesperson, Alpheous Nxumalo had not responded at the time of compiling this report.
The lawyer who is representing incarcerated pro-democracy Members of Parliament (MPs) Bacede Mabuza and Mthandeni Dube was last week Thursday banned from entering the country by King Mswati’s Government after allegedly calling for the boycott of the Umhlanga ceremony.
MP Bacede Mabuza’s followers in Hosea feast on R11,000.00 bull donated by lawyer.
