MBABANE: Millionaire Muzi Dlamini popularly known as ‘MA’ has been accused of manipulating the courts to grab a two year-old from baby mama Zinhle Lukhele, a widow.
Dlamini, the Director of MA Dlamini Consulting Engineers allegedly hired lawyers, manipulated the Magistrate Courts for a questionable order to grab a minor from his mother.
Speaking to this Swaziland News on Friday, Lukhele said Dlamini, a married man, was taking advantage of her because she was poor and couldn’t afford lawyers.
Lukhele told this publication that she was a widow and fell in love with Dlamini who subsequently impregnated her. The widow said she took the blame for dating a married man after the death of her husband but had accepted moving-on. Lukhele said to her surprise, Dlamini decided to hire lawyers for a court order seeking to grab her child. She said it was hard for a woman to be separated with her child at the age of two years.
“He has never supported the child since birth, kwake kwenteka yini emhlabeni nje uphelele unguMake kutsiwe umukwa umntfwanakho? I don’t understand why he even reached a decision to take the child. He came and paid a fine for impregnating me(kutsenga umntfwana) after that he said he wanted his child. I am surprised that a child can be equated to bread that you can just come and buy .He is telling me that I can’t raise the child according to his expected standards and I am surprised that all children are grabbed from their single mothers just because they are poor,” she said.
Reached for comments, Muzi ‘MA’ Dlamini said the matter was before the court, as a result, he can’t comment.
“It’s a matter before the courts. She has her representatives and I have mine. It would be undue for me to comment,” said the businessman.
Speaking to this Swaziland News, Colani Hlatswako, the One Billion Rising Campaign Africa Coordinator said what is happening to Zinhle Lukhele was a challenge faced by many women.
“Women are struggling and bullied by men with financial power. In this case, how can you grab a two year-old from his mother? Raising a child is not only about money, a child needs love and care and no money can buy the mother’s love for her child. We will lobby other women’s rights organizations to monitor and follow-up on this matter, we want to see justice,” said the One Billion Rising Africa Coordinator.
