MPAKA: Sakhile ‘Awuviva’ Nxumalo, the President of the Swaziland Youth Congress (SWAYOCO) says their clean up campaign at Mpaka was a success.
Speaking to this Swaziland News on Saturday, the SWAYOCO President said they also discussed the issue of unemployment and Gender Based Violence(GBV).
\"The issue of Gender Based Violence was correctly unpacked as a product of the royal Tinkhundla Government which is undermining women in society by developing backward men in communities who undermine women existence in society by making them their subjects which is something King Mswati III has been rendering in the Swazi society, all his wives are just subjects.Later we donated sanitary pads to every young girl who was present in the community engagement since our call is clear, Government must give all girls free sanitary pads and stop taxation on sanitary pads young women don\'t have money at all,”said the President.
Government Spokesperson Alpheous Nxumalo had not responded at the time of compiling this report.
SWAYOCO is the youth wing of the People’s United Democratic Movement (PUDEMO) which organised a clean up campaign and a community engagement at Mpaka on Saturday.
SWAYOCO successfully holds a clean up campaign, donates sanitary pads to young girls.
