MBABANE: Sinawo Thambo, the Spokesperson of the Economic Freedom Fighters(EFF) came hard on King Mswati for allegedly bombing the home of Mlungisi Makhanya, the President of the People’s United Democratic Movement(PUDEMO).

King Mswati, an absolute Monarch, has revived attacks on pro-democracy activists following a brief hiatus after the international community widely condemned the shooting and killing of dozens of civilians by his security officers, the civilians were killed merely for demanding democracy.

Military explosives were found within the premises after the bombing of the PUDEMO President’s home.

The alleged assassination attempt on the PUDEMO President in the early hours on Tuesday comes a few days after this Swaziland News exposed Mswati Indvuna(Governor)Themba Ginindza by releasing ‘intercepted’ cellphone conversations where the Governor disclosed that they were training a squad to target political activists and their properties.

In a public statement released on Wednesday, the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) said it noted with dismay and condemned the bombing of the PUDEMO President’s house in the Kingdom of eSwatini.

“The family regime of the nonsensical monarch of King Mswati and its cohorts is hellbent on the elimination of pro-democracy activists and the struggle for economic freedom by the people of eSwatini.The EFF calls on African Heads of States to reign on their illegitimate counterpart and isolate the absolute monarch to force it to desist from such terrorist conduct akin to apartheid government.The EFF calls on the people of eSwatini to intensify the pressure against the family regime and leave no stone unturned in pursuant of a democratic dispensation by all necessary means including violent overthrow of the despicable archaic fascist monarch,” reads the statement in part.

A questionnaire was sent to King Mswati’s Spokesperson Percy Simelane, however, he had not responded at the time of compiling this report.

On another note, Thambo said the EFF would keep an eye on the developments in eSwatini and at a right time, they would announce drastic mass action by South Africans against what he described as the murderous regime of Mswati. 

“The EFF will further sponsor motion in Parliament condemning the treacherous acts of the feudalist regime of bloodhounds of Mswati and cohorts.We further call on African States including the South African government to summon the diplomatic representatives of King Mswati to register the anguish and anger of the struggling poverty-stricken people of eSwatini against the harsh realities of brutality and violent conduct of the Mswati regime.The demands and freedom of eSwatini masses are legitimate and the time is now to act against an island dictorial regime in our continent and region,” reads the statement in part.
