MBABANE:Ayanda Mhlongo, the Swaziland National Union of Students(SNUS) Deputy Secretary General was on Monday afternoon, abducted by King Mswati’s police as the crackdown on pro-democracy activists and human rights defenders intensifies.
Superintendent Phindile Vilakati, the Police Spokesperson had not responded at the time of compiling this report.
Reached for comments, Colani Maseko, the Students Union President confirmed that Mhlongo was abducted.
“Ayanda Mhlongo, the SNUS Deputy Secretary General who is a final year student at the Faculty of Education at SANU under the programme of Early Childhood Care Education (ECCD) was abducted at Luve at Mganwini with her sister, her sister was released while Ayanda is still kept in police custody,”said the Students Union President.
