SWAGAA, women rights groups protest in court, want alleged rapist Martin Internesh Dlamini to remain behind bars

MBABANE: Sakhile Dlamini, the Swaziland Action Group Against Abuse(SWAGAA)Communications and Advocacy Officer says as women rights groups, they want alleged rapist lawyer Martin ‘Internesh’ Dlamini to remain behind bars. 

Women rights groups protested at the High Court in Mbabane on Friday  to express their position in the matter, Dlamini stands accused of raping women including his own children.

“We are here to express our position in the matter, people like this lawyer don’t deserve bail. The court should at least ensure that the matter is finalized speedily while he remains behind bars.Furthermore, we are here to express our support for the victims, we want them to know that we are with them,” said the SWAGAA Communications and Advocacy Officer.

The organizations that joined SWAGGA at the High Court include the Swaziland Rural Women Assembly(SRWA) and the People’s United Democratic Movement(PUDEMO) Women’s League.
