MATSAPHA: Colani Maseko, the President of the Swaziland National Union of Students(SNUS) says the graduation ceremony of the University of Eswatini (UNESWA) must be turned into a political rally.
This comes after the University postponed its graduation ceremony that was to be held on 8th October 2022, students vandalized the graduation arena and wrote graffiti calling for the removal of King Mswati from power.
Speaking to this Swaziland News on Monday,Colani Khulekani Maseko the President of Swaziland National Union of Students (SNUS) said the University graduation should be turned into a political activity.
"The graduation ceremony should be turned into a political rally," he said.
In a memorandum released on Monday, Dr Salebona Simelane,the institutions Registrar informed the students that the graduation ceremony has been postponed until further notice.
“It is advised that due to unforeseen circumstances, the graduation ceremony has been postponed from Saturday,8th October, 2022 to a future date to be announced", reads the memorandum.
