UNIVERSITY GRADUATION POSTPONEMENT: Words are more powerful than weapons,King Mswati must fall.

Tuesday, 4th October, 2022

The students’ graffiti on the walls of the University of Eswatini(UNESWA) calling for the fall of King Mswati reminded me how, in the beginning, the Word of God created the Universe.

Indeed, words are more powerful than guns and or arms of war, graffiti on the walls and pavers within the University of Eswatini(UNESWA) resulted to the postponement of this year’s graduation ceremony.

In the beginning, God used the Word to create Heaven and Earth, thereafter, he subsequently created a human being in his own image.

Even though the power to create is upon God, he delegated some of these powers unto human beings after pouring his Spirit, that’s why humans went on to create roads, planes, airports bridges, design houses etc.

Human beings were given the power to shape and change the world into a better place.

Now, we are seeing University students who are under siege stopping a graduation ceremony through the power of the Word.

The students simply expressed themselves that “Mswati must fall”, and thereafter their words influenced the postponement of the graduation ceremony.

As mentioned, words when put into practice, are more powerful than weapons of war.

After being brutalized by the police, the students used their creativity to send a message to King Mswati.

What the University students did is constitutional and protected in the Bill of Rights, its freedom of expression.

In my opinion, the administrators of the University postponed the graduation amid fears that the King might get angry upon reading the ‘writings’ on the walls.

But the truth is, Mswati is fully aware that he will eventually fall, he is just postponing a problem hoping that the political unrest will fade away like a mist that disappears when the sun emerges in the east.

A mist is a cloud of tiny water droplets suspended in the atmosphere at or near the earth's surface that limits visibility to a lesser extent than fog.

King Mswati is walking in a rough political road covered by a huge political mist, he doesn’t know where he is going but hopes the mist will one day disappear and never be seen again.

The King created the mist by brutalizing and killing University students, he deprived them scholarships and or allowances and now, these students don’t want him anymore.

As you walk in the political mist Your Majesty, let me once again remind you that Swazis, the youth particularly University students want you to fall and, eventually, you will fall.

The administrators of the University can clean the ‘writings’ on the walls just to please the King but, the message is loud and clear, "Mswati must fall” and indeed, he will fall.
