NHLAMBENI: Marthinus Van Dyk, the Elangeni Milling Chief Executive Officer(CEO) has described Eswatini as an excellent country to investment in.

Speaking during a visit by Commerce, Industry and Trade Minister Mancoba who toured the company on Friday, the CEO said as a company, they were looking forward to expand their business

“I think Eswatini is an excellent country to invest in. We are looking forward to expanding our business, so that we can build our country and create food security, not only for us, but also for our neighbours wherever we can one day export our products.”said the Eswatini Milling CEO as quoted by Government online platforms.

On another note, Commerce Minister Mancoba Khumalo said the objective of Elangeni Milling aligns well with the key “pillars of Government in far as combating food insecurity is concerned”.

The Minister said having been operating in the country for these years,Eswatini Milling has benefited and subsequently expanded its footprint in the milling industry focusing primarily on Wheat Flour Meal.

“This aligns well with the Government Strategic Roadmap for revitalising the economy through increasing re-investments and expansion in the country. This is an existential diversification opportunity that has arisen as a spinoff from big projects that my Ministry, through its designated institutions, has facilitated including the likes of Kellogg Tolaram Eswatini (Pty) Ltd who are using high volumes of Flour. We are quite aware of the supply constraints currently experienced by the local industry and we believe that building the productive capacity for wheat milling is beneficial to the country. The increase of the milling capacity also signals the need for backward cultivation and supply for wheat in the country,” said the Minister.
