SHEWULA: Penuel Malinga, the National Organising Secretary of the People’s United Democratic Movement(PUDEMO) has confirmed the burning down of their member Mciniseli Mabila’s house that caught fire from an unattended candle last week Monday.

Efforts to reach Mciniseli Mabila for a comment proved unsuccessful at the time of compiling this report, his cellphone was allegedly burnt in the fire.

Speaking to this Swaziland News, the PUDEMO National Organizer blamed the  Tinkhundla Government for its inefficiency in the rural electrification program.

“The situation is very bad and disturbing that at this time and age people are still using candles when Government claims to have made progress in rural electrification, the Tinkhundla system is to be blamed for this fire.We donated food, and clothes. We will also help him in  rebuilding his house since everything was burnt down,” said the National Organizer.

Alpheous Nxumalo, the Government Spokeperson had not responded to our questionnaire at the time of compiling this report.

Reached for comments, Ndumiso Masimula, the Lomahasha Member of Parliament (MP) blamed the Eswatini Electricity Company (EEC) for delaying electricity schemes.

"Electricity schemes have been formed and implemented, we have recently completed 380 homesteads. However EEC's response of late is not  encouraging as there is a scheme which I’m also a member, it is failing to get a quotation from last year November,”said the MP.
