MBABANE: Sergeant Dumsile Khumalo, the Secretary General of the Police Staff Association is now facing dismissal after the Police Executive Command wrote a letter directing her to show cause why she should not be charged for engaging in an act that was against the police code of conduct.
Contents of the letter cannot be revealed for now to protect our sources as it is still being circulated within a few senior police officers.
Reached for comments, Sergeant Khumalo confirmed existence of the letter but declined to comment saying she was seeking legal advice on the matter.
“I was told to come and collect that letter, I haven’t seen it and will not comment pending legal advice from my lawyer,” she said.
A questionnaire was sent to Police Spokesperson Phindile Vilakati, however, she had not responded at the time of compiling this report.
Khumalo led police officers in a historic protest march on Tuesday morning in demand for a salary increase.
The officers are demanding a salary increment under Phase Two(2), monies meant to increase their salaries were allegedly misappropriated by the Police Executive Command.
On another note, junior police officers vowed to fight and protect their Secretary General.
Seargent Dumsile Khumalo(L) is now facing disciplinary proceedings.
