BIG-BEND: Hungry Big-Bend traffic police officers allegedly stopped a truck at Mayaluka Bus Stop on Wednesday morning and subsequently grabbed sugarcane before letting it go.
On Tuesday, police officers marched to the Prime Minister’s Office demanding a salary increment from Government.
A questionnaire was sent to Police Spokesperson Superintendent Phindile Vilakati, however, she had not responded at the time of compiling this report.
But an eye witness who took pictures said it was evident that the traffic officers were hungry and might have gone to work without breakfast.
“As you can see in the pictures, they stopped the truck, greeted the driver and went on to grab the sugarcane before letting it go,” said the eye witness.
Police officers marched to the Prime Minister’s office on Tuesday morning demanding a salary increment, a majority of junior officers are allegedly living in poverty, over R100 million meant to increase their salaries under Phase Two(2)was misappropriated by members of the Executive Command.
