PRIME MINISTER CLEOPAS DLAMINI: Eswatini Building Society now worth R3billion.

MATSAPHA: Prime Minister Cleopas Dlamini has disclosed that the Eswatini Building Society(EBS) has an asset value of R3billion.

Speaking during the official opening of the Building Society Matsapha branch on Friday, the Prime Minister said it always pleases Government to see businesses thriving in line with the objectives of the Strategic Roadmap 2019-2023.

The PM said Government will continue to provide the necessary support needed for the private sector to grow, through continuously improving the Eswatini business environment.

“Allow me to congratulate past and current Board members, management, and staff for this achievement.The Society has grown over the years to realise an asset base of E3billion,which is another milestone worth celebrating. I would like to challenge the relevant stakeholders to speed up the process of converting SBS into a fully-fledged bank. I am aware that this is work in progress, but I am also confident that it will be implemented seamlessly in an effort to grow the financial services sector and thereby contribute immensely to the economy,” said the Prime Minister as quoted by Government online platforms.

The official opening of the Eswatini Building Society(EBS) Matsapha Branch was attended by, among others, Finance Minister Neal Rijikernberg, former Prime Minister Absalom Themba Dlamini and Senator Sylvia Mtsetfwa.
