TAIPEI: King Mswati engaged a Taiwanese company Geosat Aerospace and Technology this week, to consider opening a drone manufacturing company in the Kingdom of eSwatini.

The King was with, among others, his son, Prince Sicalo, the Principal Secretary in the Ministry of Defense and Security when the drone manufacturers made the presentation.

It is alleged that the drones might be used in monitoring and spying political activists who are demanding democratic reforms, Taiwan is allegedly funding military operations against innocent civilians.

On Sunday, eSwatini Government online platforms reported that expressing the desire to enter into a joint venture with a Swazi company was Chairman Dr Zheng-Fang Luo who met the King in Taiwan and made a presentation.

“When we had lunch with the President (Tsai Ing-wen), she did mention to me that your company is very keen to invest in Eswatini hence our meeting today where you presented to us the products and services you provide.Having set up a similar company in Malaysia, this would now make your work easier as you can tap into that experience in doing the same in the Kingdom as we no longer need to reinvent the wheel,”said the King as quoted by Government online platforms on Sunday.
