POLICE STAFF ASSOCIATION ORDER:Protestors not assaulted, shot during “Hands off our SNAT President” protest.

MBABANE: Protestors were neither assaulted nor shot during the “Hands-off our SNAT President” protest on Monday.

This comes after Sergeant Dumsile Khumalo, the Secretary General of the Police Staff Association advised junior officers to return to their original mandate and refrain from assaulting protestors but maintain law and order while protecting life and property. 

Reached for comments,Lot Vilakati,the Secretary General of the Swaziland National Association of Teachers(SNAT) confirmed that protestors were not assaulted during the protest.

“It’s true that we were not assaulted, there were no roadblocks,” said the SNAT Secretary General.

Teachers and University students marched to the Ministry of Education on Monday, they were protesting against the persecution of SNAT President Mbongwa Dlamini after Mswati’s Government stopped his salary.

Dlamini is being persecuted for representing teachers and attending meetings on behalf of the organization, he stands accused of absenteeism.

After the shooting of police officers allegedly,by the Solidarity Forces, it has been disclosed that some junior officers resolved to defy any order to shoot or assault civilians.

The police officers further resolved to expose officers who would shoot or assault citizens.
