Public works Minister Chief Ndlaluhlaza launches decentralized road services at Lungongolweni.

LUGONGOLWENI:Chief Ndlaluhlaza Ndwandwe, the Minister of Public Works and Transport and Tikhundla Minister David Ngcamphalala officially launched the decentralised road transportation services at Lugongolweni lnkhundla, Government online platforms reported on Monday.

According to the report, the office will receive fresh, renewal and amendment forms,issue adhoc permits (variation),receive payment of traffic fines,conduct Board hearings on applications,and further receive reports of community issues among others.

“For a long time, road transport services were offered only at the head office which was a high cost to emaSwati. The latter will be a thing of the past as Government will start issuing variation permits. We are looking forward to creating an IT platform to bring services closer to the people at grassroots level.We applaud the Ministry of Tinkhundla Administration and Development for providing office space and staff to operationalise the regional transportation offices initiative as there will be four offices which will be based in Manzini, Buhleni, Nhlangano and Lugongolweni,” said the Minister as quoted by eSwatini Government online platforms.

On another note, David Cruizer Ngcamphalala, the Minister of Tinkhundla Administration and Development David Ngcamphalala said Government,through the decentralisation programme provided services such as Immigration, Civil Registration, Library, social welfare and road transportation,amongst others here at Lugongolweni lnkhundla,”

“As we launch the decentralised road transportation services, Government is providing what is constitutionally provided for, which is Tinkhundla units or areas inspired by the policy of decentralisation as engines of development and the central pillars underpinning the political organisation and economical infrastructure of the country, through which social services to the different parts or communities prevail,” said the Tinkhundla Minister as quoted by Government online platforms.
