MBABANE: Alpheous Nxumalo, the eSwatini Government Spokesperson has come out to label aggrieved junior police officers who are demanding a salary increment under Phase Two(2) as terrorists.
Speaking during a press conference on Saturday, the Government Spokesperson condemned a decision by the police to march to Prime Minister Cleopas Dlamini’s residence in demand for a salary increment.
“The march to the Prime Minister’s home by the officers was not only out of order but an indication of terrorist elements existing among the junior officers. We will wait for a detailed report from the police Executive regarding the march, this was uncalled for particularly because, salary issues are never discussed at the Prime Minister’s residence,” he said.
The Government Spokesperson said it was clear that the police officers wanted to hold the Prime Minister hostage in his own residence, he said those were tactics used by terrorists.
