Nkosinathi Bhembe, Siyabonga Mashaba among public transport workers shot by Mswati’s soldiers.

MANZINI: Nkosinathi Bhembe and Siyabonga Mashaba are among the public transport workers who were shot by Mswati’s police and soldiers on Thursday.

Muzi Nhleko, the National Organizer of the Eswatini Kombis, Buses and Allied Workers Union(EKABAU) confirmed the shooting of the public transport workers.

“It’s true, they were shot by the police and soldiers during the protest yesterday(Thursday) and are currently admitted at Nazarene Hospital,” said the EKABAU National Organizer.

A questionnaire was sent to Superintendent Phindile Vilakati,the Police Spokesperson,however, she had not responded at the time of compiling this report.

Public transport workers engaged in a protest on Thursday, demanding the release of their arrested colleagues.

The arrested workers  who are facing assault charges were later released after public transport owners associations paid a collective bail of thirty thousand Rands(R30,000.00).
