MANZINI: Manzini North Member of Parliament Macford Sibandze has tested positive to COVID-19.
This Swaziland News has learned that the MP publicly declared that he had tested positive to the coronavirus in an exclusive interview he had with the Swazi Observer on Tuesday where he further confirmed to be in isolation since Friday last week. The MP's results were among those announced by Health Minister Lizzie Nkosi on Tuesday where he was referred as a 51 year-old man of Manzini.
“I have been kept in isolation since Friday and doctors have been keeping me on drips after struggling for appetite for the past three weeks.Initially I felt flu symptoms, which I tried to manage the normal way but couldn’t go away completely, I suspected inyongo. I then decided to come to hospital, where a series of tests were conducted and placed in isolation pending my results.I must say that my BP levels were high, temperature as well high, but now I am more stable” said the MP.
These latest developments come in the midst of concerns that government was not taking strict measures to control the virus. Last week, Prime Minister Ambrose Dlamini announced an extension of the partial lockdown but allowed citizens to move freely and companies to resume business.
