MBABANE: Kayise Qwabe,an MTN eSwatini employee was on Friday evening, shot at close range allegedly, by Mswati soldiers merely for travelling at night.
Qwabe was on her way back to her house after knocking-off late only to find soldiers at a roadblock in Mbabane.
As reported by this Swaziland News,the soldiers were deployed by King Mswati to hunt members of the Swaziland International Solidarity Forces(SISF).
In the midst of the political unrest, King Mswati deployed the soldiers to stage roadblocks around the country after the police protested demanding a salary increment.
Royal royal insiders told this publication that the King no longer has absolute trust on the State police.
Speaking to this publication on Sunday, Kayise Qwabe’s sister Khosi Shongwe, confirmed the shooting adding that her sister was admitted in hospital.
“She was on her way to the house after knocking-off late at work, the soldiers who were at the roadblock at Mountain View, Mbabane shot her. She works at MTN Headquarters, Ezulwini,” she said.
A questionnaire was sent to Lieutenant Tengetile Khumalo, the Army Spokesperson, however, she had not responded at the time of compiling this report.
Eswatini is in the midst of a political unrest, members of the security forces, acting on Mswati’s orders, have killed over one hundred(100) civilians since the unrest started.
