MANZINI: “Public transport owners who will defy a resolution by its workers union to halt operations on Tuesday, will have their kombis and buses burnt”.

These were the sentiments of the Commander of the Solidarity Forces when supporting a statement issued by Maqhawe Mamba, the Chairperson of the Swaziland Transport Communication and Allied  Workers Union (SWATCAWU) who announced  that on Tuesday there would be no public transport.

“We would like to warn public transport operators that they must halt operations after 8 am tomorrow, those public transport operators who will defy this would be legitimate targets,” said the Commander when speaking to Swaziland News editor Zweli Martin Dlamini.

Addressing public transport workers on Monday, the SWATCAWU Chairperson said they would ensure that no one sabotaged their operation.

“Tomorrow there will be no transport out of Manzini to any other destination except for the Mbabane route, the only transport that would be available is for Mbabane and we will make sure of that”, said the chairperson.

Members of the public will march to the High Court on Tuesday demanding the release incarcerated pro-democracy MPs Bacede Mabuza and Mthandeni Dube who are being persecuted by Mswati.
