MBABANE: Sticks Nkambule, the Secretary General of the Swaziland Transport, Communication and Allied Workers Union(SWATCAWU) has said there would be no public transport on Wednesday.
In an electronic statement sent to this Swaziland News, the Secretary General urged public transport workers to down tools and search for their colleagues who were abducted, shot and injured during the release pro-democracy Members of Parliament(MPs) protest.
“As you know how we work, when one of our own is missing we don’t work until we find out where he is. So, tomorrow, there would be no transport, we are not working, we will be searching for our missing colleagues who were abducted and injured by State agents,” he said.
Reached for comments, Sabelo Dlamini, the Secretary General of the Eswatini Local Kombis Association said it was hard to confirm if public transport would be available on Wednesday after the statement issued by the workers union.
“As public transport owners, we were hoping that tomorrow operations would resume but now, the workers union is urging the employees to go and look for their missing colleagues.So,I cannot confirm whether transport would be available or not, sesibona khona,” said the Local Kombis Association Secretary General.
