MBABANE: National Commissioner of police William Tsintsibala Dlamini(70)has been given an option by junior cops to resign or be grabbed out of office.
A questionnaire was sent to the National Commissioner, however,he had not responded at the time of compiling this report.
The tension between the junior officers and the National Commissioner escalated on Wednesday, after a meeting were members of the Royal Eswatini Police Staff Association(REPOSA) were asked to show cause why they should not be suspended without pay.
But in a public statement sent to this Swaziland News on Wednesday evening, the Police Staff Association warned the National Commissioner against intimidating its members merely for demanding a salary increment under Phase Two(2).
The officers further accused Dlamini of causing anarchy in the country by ordering the brutal assault of members of the public.
“If he is not ordering that members of the public be brutalized, he is busy hatching unorthodox strategies to intimidate dissenting voices from junior officers by suspending them at a snap of a fingure. We will grab him screaming and kicking and dump him in the comfort of his home so that his grandchildren may get to bask the warmth of their grandfather. It would be his choice to say ‘’Thank you,”reads the statement in part, that was confirmed by Constable Qiniso Sikhondze, the Police Staff Association Public Relations Officer(PRO).
