MBABANE: Marwick Khumalo, the Lobamba Lomdzala Member of Parliament(MP) has congratulated editor Zweli Martin Dlamini and Chief Prince Sicunusa of eMgazini for ensuring that evicted resident Themba Motsa return home.
Motsa was allowed back home after the editor posted on Facebook condemning the Chief for evicting the resident, the editor suggested that the Chief should at least impose a reasonable fine instead of evicting the resident.
“I would like to congratulate you Nkhosi and the Chief for ensuring that Motsa returns home. Some of us, we are deeply touched when we see people being persecuted by Chiefs,” said the MP in a message sent to the editor.
Motsa confirmed during an interview that the Chief has allowed him back home.
On another note, editor Zweli Martin Dlamini urged Motsa to respect the Chief, he further warned Chiefs against persecuting residents.
“Peace and harmony exist when we respect each other. Chiefs must respect residents and residents must respect Chiefs. As journalists, we normally come-in when we see abuse of power, but we are not promoting disrespect against authorities,”said the editor.
