SIKHUPHE: Prime Minister Cleopas Dlamini says the Nation must expect more arrests linked to the killing of security officers and burning of properties.

The PM was speaking at the King Mswati III International Airport on Wednesday, before leaving the country to Niger, where he would be representing the King at the Extraordinary Summit of the African Union on Industrialization and Economic Diversification in Africa.

“We applaud the police for arresting suspects linked to the killing of security officers and we want to assure the Nation that more arrests are coming. It’s important to make it clear that we also condemn the burning of Chief Justice Bheki Maphalala’s property and the killing of his livestock, this is terrorism,” said the Prime Minister.

Eswatini is in the midst of a political unrest after King Mswati unleashed his soldiers and the police to shoot and kill dozens of civilians, merely for demanding democratic reforms.

On another note, the Commander of the Swaziland International Solidarity Forces(SISF) told this Swaziland News that they would intensify their operations, he assured the Nation that there were many well-trained members of the underground forces.

“Without confirming that the reported arrested suspects are indeed members of the forces, we can assure the Nation that there are many well-trained members of the Solidarity Forces. It is for these reasons, operations are continuing despite the reported arrests. In fact, we are yet to commission another aggressive unit that will cripple the operations of the State,” said the Commander of the  Solidarity Forces when speaking to this Swaziland News during an interview.

Mswati’s Government has been struggling to control and stop the political unrest since its eruption in June 2021 after the King allegedly killed civilians.
