MHLAMBANYATSI: A Fire Station situated at Mhlambanyatsi belonging to Finance Minister Neal Rijikernberg’s Montigny Investments was,on Wednesday evening, burnt by members of the pro-democracy Swaziland International Solidarity Forces(SISF).

The Fire Station was responsible for monitoring fire at the forests owned by the politically connected company.

Reached for comments, the Commander of the Solidarity Forces confirmed the operation adding that by attacking the Fire Station, they were preparing to completely destroy Montigny Investments without disturbance.

“The forests that Mswati and Neal are looting, belong to the Swazi people and they are a collective heritage of the Swazi people. When Sobhuza launched Usuthu, he said to the people of the area, he was bringing them li-Jozi, meaning gold. The residents had to vacate their land, so that we could have that plantation. But instead of that plantation benefiting the people of Swaziland, particularly of the area, it has become a fattening ranch for Mswati and Neal”, said the Commander.

Police Spokesperson Phindile Vilakati had not responded at the time of compiling this report.

Speaking to this Swaziland News in the early hours on Thursday, Montigny Spokesperson Sihle Mavuso confirmed the attack.

“It’s true that our Fire Station has been attacked,” said the Montigny Spokesperson.

Eswatini, a tiny Kingdom situated in Southern Africa, is in the midst of a political crisis, underground forces are intensifying operations by burning structures and shooting high profile people including security officers.

The political crisis erupted after Mswati unleashed his soldiers and the police to kill dozens of civilians for demanding democracy.

On another note, the Commander of the Solidarity Forces said they would start attacking fire fighters after some of them defied an order not to respond to emergencies and disturb their operations.

“You see, once we finish an operation, police are no longer responding immediately, they come in the morning. But fire fighters are disturbing our operations, so we need to attack them to ensure that they don’t respond,” said the Commander.
