MBABANE: Dr Siphetfo Dlamini, a highly regarded political analyst says the Southern African Development Community(SADC) must prove its effectiveness that has always been questioned.
Speaking to the South African Broadcasting Corporation(SABC) last week, the political analyst said SADC has been accused of being ineffective in terms of conflict resolution and the implementation its resolutions.
“Indirectly, maybe the question is the effectiveness of SADC in this case, which has always been questioned. SADC has been perceived to be one of those organizations that has quite a number of doubts in terms of bringing about effective conflict resolutions and most importantly, implementing its resolutions,” said the political analyst.
SADC Troika Chairperson Hage Geingob, the Namibian President said the solution to eSwatini crisis was on its hands, the Chairperson uttered these sentiments after meeting King Mswati at Lozitha Palace on the 18th November 2022.
Eswatini is the midst of a political crisis after King Mswati unleashed his soldiers and the police to shoot and kill dozens of civilians,merely for demanding democratic reforms.
