Wednesday, 30th November, 2022

MBABANE: The Commander of the Swaziland International Solidarity Forces(SISF) has warned officers of the Operational Support Services Unit(OSSU) to refrain from brutalizing protesting innocent civilians.

Speaking to this Swaziland News shortly after attacking the Zibonele Mfelangubo Army Camp on Tuesday night, the Commander said operations against soldiers would continue but warned OSSU officers that an attack against them was  coming as a retaliation for brutalizing innocent civilians.

“Now that we have brought some resemblance or discipline on the police,we are now on a campaign to do same with soldiers and the OSSU is also on our horizon. We will continue to attack them with the intention of doing what they are doing to our civilians, which is killing them,” said the Commander of the Solidarity Forces when speaking to editor Zweli Martin Dlamini.

Members of the Solidarity Forces invaded Zibonele Camp, shot and killed soldiers, the SISF Commander said the operation was in response to the ongoing shooting of civilians by Mswati’s soldiers.

A questionnaire was sent to Police Spokesperson Superintendent Phindile Vilakati, however, she had not responded at the time of compiling this report.

After this Swaziland News reported the story, Deputy Prime Minister Themba Masuku held an urgent press conference, he confirmed that the camp was invaded by attackers but denied that some soldiers were killed.

Eswatini is in the midst of a political unrest after King Mswati unleashed his soldiers and the police to shoot and kill dozens of civilians merely for demanding democratic reforms.
